Designer Outlet Croatia plans to increase the area of the complex
Designer Outlet Croatia is planning an expansion to provide customers with an even better shopping experience. This will give the centre the opportunity to become one of the leading centres in its segment in Croatia.
The project has received all necessary planning permissions. The planned work will increase the size of the shopping centre by 6 thousand square metres. This will make it possible to accommodate up to 30 new shops. The shopping centre is part of the JOY Rugvica complex with a total area of 10,000 square metres.
The facility meets sustainable construction standards and has BREEAM certification. The project company will modernise the complex using the latest technologies. The designers have chosen a historical style for the design.
Designer Outlet Croatia benefits
The expansion of the shopping centre is not the only change in the JOY Rugvica complex. It is a joint project of INGKA Centres and ROS Retail Outlet Shopping. It includes 10 hypermarkets and 28 thousand square metres of green areas. The complex receives more than 3.6 million visitors per year. In addition, the project is regularly expanded and improved. A Shell petrol station has been built on the territory of JOY Rugvica. By the end of 2025, a Burger King car wash will open – the first in Croatia.
Designer Outlet will create a single shopping space integrated with other retail facilities. The new shopping centre will seamlessly merge with IKEA Zagreb, which will be located next door. This will create an ideal shopping area that meets the needs of different categories of consumers.
The developer’s plans
Nikola Grđan of Designer Outlet Croatia emphasised the significant potential of the complex. The project authors aim to make the facility the leading cross-border premium outlet. A large number of international brands will be represented here, attracting shoppers from all over the region. It will also be popular with residents of neighbouring countries such as Bosnia, Hungary and Slovenia.
Special attention has been paid to the impact of the development on the local community. Achieving this goal involves several key steps:
– implementing the principles of sustainable development;
– creating more than 200 new jobs;
– improving the level of customer service;
– expanding the offer to create a positive shopping experience.
Designer Outlet has been operating in Croatia since 2018. During this time, it has become the most visited premium outlet in the Southeast Europe region. It features shops of more than 100 well-known brands, including Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. The complex offers discounts from 30% to 70% all year round. Over the past few years, the outlet has shown good growth dynamics in terms of footfall and sales. The expansion of the complex will help to consolidate this success and place the facility among the retail leaders.
