Statbel has published rates for apartments in Belgium. According to the document, on average, the cost of real estate in the country for the year increased by about 4.8% and reached a mark of 220 thousand euros.
The country is divided into three regions – the Brussels-Capital, Walloon, and Flemish. The highest cost of housing is recorded in the capital and surrounding areas. On average, you can buy an apartment here for 240 thousand euros, which is 2.8% more than last year.
Housing in the Flemish region costs about 225 thousand euros, an increase of almost 4.7%. In this part of Belgium, there are five provinces and the most expensive real estate in Flemish Brabant. The average price of the apartment is €250,000, for the year objects have risen in price by 8.7%. The lowest price is in Limburg – about 209 thousand euros, the price increase is recorded at 2.5% compared with last year.
Provinces also have their own division into districts. The leader in West Flanders in the size of prices for apartments is the Bruges County, where to buy you must spend the amount of 300 thousand euros. Last year, the cost of apartments was 1.7% lower. The cheapest property can be found in the county Rousselaer – a little more than 167 thousand euros. As for the price increases, they rose slightly – 0.14%.

In Bruges County, there is a municipality located, where real estate is considered the most expensive in Belgium – Knokke-Heist. Average apartment prices here are about 480 thousand euros, although last year they were 9.1% lower. And the cost of housing here exceeds the rates of the capital market. Knokke-Heist – is a resort area on the North Sea, which attracts not only locals but also citizens of the Netherlands and Germany.
In the Walloon Region, the price of apartments is fixed in the range of 169 thousand euros, the growth rate is about 5.6% compared with the previous period. The highest real estate price in the region is in Walloon Brabant. Here, homes can be purchased for 233 thousand euros, while the cheapest apartments are sold in the province of Eno – for 140 thousand euros.
Regarding the most expensive properties in the region, they are located in the municipality of Waterloo. Apartments here cost an average of 327 thousand euros, which is 16.7% more than the previous year. You can buy on a budget in Charleroi – the price of apartments is about 94 thousand euros. In this municipality real estate sagged for the year by more than 14%.
