What makes the hotel ME by Melia in Opus complex unique

Dubai is a modern metropolis that amazes with its beauty and possibilities. It has everything necessary for an unforgettable holiday and business development. The capital of the United Arab Emirates welcomes travelers all year round. The volume of tourist flow of the metropolis is almost 50% of all visitors to the UAE. To attract even more people, Dubai creates more and more attractions and entertainment options. Another new facility in the city is the hotel ME by Melia, which already claims to be the most extravagant.
The building was designed by the famous architect Zaha Hadid. ME by Melia is located in the Opus business complex and is Hadid’s first and last project in this country. In March, the hotel welcomed its first guests, and Opus opened a little later.
There is a skyscraper in the center of Dubai, next to it is the tallest building in the city – the Burj Khalifa. The hotel, which is represented by the brand ME by Melia, already attracts admiring views. Even in such a modern and futuristic place as Dubai, it stands out clearly. In addition, the project has a symbolic meaning. Its author, Zahi Hadid, died 4 years ago without seeing the realization of her idea. The hotel complex is a kind of memory of the greatest woman in modern architecture.
The concept of Opus and ME by Melia was introduced to Zaha back in 2007, but construction began only in 2019. Construction of the hotel was carried out fairly quickly and using the latest technology, which speeds up the process without losing quality.

The building of the Opus business complex is represented by two towers, which merge into one and take the form of a cube. It is based on a void in the center of the building.
It connects the parts of the construction of the atrium on four floors, which is the starting point of the towers that are directed upwards to the sky. Two skyscrapers have a twisted construction, due to which it seems that the towers are first separated from each other, and then connected again at a height of 71 meters. At this point, there is a three-storey asymmetric bridge with a width of 38 meters. The narrow basement floor gives the impression of the building floating above the ground.
The appearance of Opus and ME by Melia is traced to the characteristic features of Zaha Hadid style. She was called the “queen of curves”, and this is confirmed once again by the project in Dubai. The broken lines and twisted shape of the towers eventually create a harmonious ensemble, which is complemented by a glass facade. The surface is beautifully reflected in the scorching UAE sun, which makes it seem like a skyscraper shining.
The structure organically combines durability and airiness, ephemeral and material.
