How will the new Milan stadium look?
Last year the management of the Italian soccer club “Milan” decided to build a new stadium instead of the outdated “San Siro”. The last one was opened in 1926 and was already several times improved. There are already two projects that require approval and can begin the construction process. The new stadium in Milan will be created according to the latest technologies and will be able to accommodate 60 thousand seats.
The complex “San Siro” hosts home soccer matches of clubs “Milan” and “Inter”. The stadium also hosted competitions within the European and world championships. The stadium accommodates 80 thousand spectators.
Despite its long history and popularity, the facility is already morally and physically outdated. Therefore, the management of soccer club “Milan”, having agreed the idea with “Inter”, suggested the city authorities demolishing the existing complex and building a modern facility in its place, which will be an ideal place for matches.
The investment in the new stadium is 1.2 billion euros. One of the projects is called The Rings of Milano, designed by the famous architect David Manicke. The construction is based on two connected rings, which balance each other. They symbolize soccer clubs that, despite the game confrontation, united for a common goal. The stadium rings are equipped with modern energy-saving lighting systems and have everything necessary for branding and holding matches of both teams.
Special attention is paid to the nearby infrastructure. A park will be created around the stadium, as well as places for recreation. Nearby it is planned to build an entertainment and tourist centers, which will give jobs for 3500 people.
The second project of the new stadium in Milan is called The Cathedral. Its authors were inspired by architectural masterpieces of the city. According to the plan, the facade of the construction is glass, and the structure will be the most stable in Europe.
The project is designed in such a way that the building cools down by itself and absorbs heat from the environment. With the help of photovoltaic panels, the roof of the stadium is leveled, so you can collect rainwater and reuse it.
Negotiations are currently underway between the clubs “Milan” and “Inter” to choose the best project. Despite the expensive construction, investors have not considered the option of reconstruction of the old “San Siro”. It would cost much more than creating a new facility.
But not all local organizations agree with this decision. One of the Italian parties stated that the San Siro stadium is a symbol of Milan, and to demolish it means to destroy part of history.
As long as there are disputes and the project is chosen, matches continue to be held at San Siro, and a number of people are making preparations for the construction.
