Buying property in Serbia: in which city of the country it is profitable to buy housing

The countries of Eastern Europe show good economic growth rates, which makes the region promising from the point of view of investment. Serbia, which has been actively developing since the crisis, stands out in this list. Especially interesting for Russians is the similarity of languages and cultural features. Buying real estate in Serbia has a number of features that are important to know when choosing an object and making a deal.
The largest city of Serbia is its capital – Belgrade, where the population is 1.5 million people. It is a developed metropolis, which combines ancient architecture, picturesque scenery and modern areas with developed infrastructure. The cost of an apartment in the historical center is 100-200 thousand Euro.
Budget housing is the most popular among Russian investors and businessmen from the CIS countries, while elite real estate is not so in demand. Many people are not afraid of the fact that the available options of apartments are located in remote areas of the capital – the city is compact and there are no problems with transportation. Dwelling with the area of 70-80 sq. m. not in the center costs about 70 thousand Euro, and if you spend a little more time searching, you can find variants for 50 thousand Euro.
The project “Belgrade on the water”, which is located in the capital’s Sava-Mala district, is considered promising. Thanks to investors from the UAE and Saudi Arabia, a residential complex is being built here, which resembles the construction of Moscow City. 4-room apartments in “Belgrade on the water” can be purchased for 500 thousand euros.
It is interesting to buy real estate in Serbia not only in the capital, but also in other regions. Novi Sad is the center of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, which has a large cultural heritage. The architecture of this region was influenced by the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In addition to the beautiful buildings in Vojvodina, the region is famous for its university.

The city of Novi Sad hosts a large number of festivals and exhibitions, which attracts tourists. Increases interest in the center of the region and its close proximity to Belgrade – the city is only an hour away by car. In Novi Sad, you can buy a spacious apartment in good condition for 50 thousand euros. There is also a demand for houses in the vicinity of the city, as well as in the proximity to the Fruska Gora reserve, which has many monasteries and vineyards. The price of real estate here starts from 100 thousand euros.
Another interesting city in Serbia is Niš, which has been known since the Roman Empire. The apartment with an area of 30-40 square meters will cost 25-3 thousand euros.
Favorable option for investing in real estate in Serbia – to buy housing for rent. In the capital, the monthly rent of apartments ranges from 300-400 euros. For this amount you will get one- or two-room apartments near the central districts.
