George Lucas bought new property in California
Real estate in California attracts rich and famous buyers. Especially popular are Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, where there is a huge number of celebrities. The creator of the legendary Star Wars – George Lucas also has a house here. Recently it became known that he decided to expand his possessions and purchased a land plot near his mansion. The amount of the deal was 28 million dollars.
Now the director owns a beautiful site overlooking the ocean. It is located not far from Santa Barbara – in a small town Carpinteria. This settlement is considered secluded, unlike most places in California. Carpinteria is only 17 km away from Santa Barbara, but there is an atmosphere of calm and coziness, without too much pathos and a lot of tourists. That is why many stars have loved the town for living, among them Kevin Costner, who has now become George Lucas’ neighbor.
The director in 2010 bought real estate in this village, which cost him 19.5 million dollars. Then he demolished the mansion there and built a new one, as well as gentrified the territory. Now he decided to buy a piece of land, which is next to the existing one.
The director’s new property has an area of 8 thousand sq.m. There are several objects on the purchased plot: a mansion, a guest house, outbuildings and a tree house.
This real estate in California is not Lucas’ only acquisition. Not so long ago he bought a chateau in France, near the town of Brignol. This area has a rich history – once there was a large settlement of Ancient Rome. Purchased by the director’s mansion of 115 hectares. The land has the status of organic clean, thanks to the previous owners, who had been cleaning the soil for a long time. As a result, not a single pesticide has been used to grow plants in this land for 40 years. On the territory of the estate there are several olive groves, on 2 hectares there is an orchard, 1 hectare is occupied for the vegetable garden, and on 15 hectares there are grown grapes. White and pink wines under the Coteaux Varois-en-Provence AOC brand are made of berries.
George Lucas was interested in this property, including the vineyards. The director is fond of wine production, he even has his own brand – Skywalker. In addition to the new facility, Lucas already has vineyards in California and Italy.
The creator of Star Wars also owns a mansion in Los Angeles, which he bought from the famous American politician Ross Perot for 33.9 million dollars.
